About Us

Some enthusiastic Literature participants after an enjoyable class

Current situation

We can hold face to face sessions at the library to those with a valid COVID Vaccination certificates. These need to be shown to library staff as it is a council building.

The newsletter has information about obtaining a vaccination certificate, the digital Hub (Phone 0447 093 888 to make a booking ) can give help to obtain a certificate, or the library staff are extremely helpful.

U3A is having a social event on Tuesday 7 December and the racecourse venue will be open in the new year to the fully vaccinated. The timetable and course descriptions for the first semester of 2022 will be available in November and there are some interesting new courses on offer.

Background

U3As are voluntary Seniors’ Groups that provide educational, recreational and social programs. Each U3A is organised by and for people who can best be described as being active in retirement or semi-retirement, the third age of our lives.

U3A Wangaratta was established over 35 years ago as one of the first, if not the first, U3A in regional Victoria. Our Mission is to provide opportunities for seniors to learn, teach, share and to give support to each other in a friendly and warm environment, regardless or ethnicity, religion, or ability.

We are normally located at the Wangaratta Turf Club.  Continue down Sisely Avenue, past Australian Textile Mills, into Cruse Street and continue on Cruse Street into the Racecourse.  We are the first red brick building on your left.
